When Dr. Semmelweis found a way to wash hands, the medical world refused to accept it. But it was later seen adopting this method. And shortly after, the result came out. In the hospital where this method was adopted, the death rate of mothers fell to less than 1.5 percent. After this, gradually the world started accepting and adopting this method.
Semmelweis died in 1865 at the age of 47. To this day, his fellow doctors were criticized till his death, he did not want to adopt it. And this criticism affected him mentally a lot even he had to go to the mental asylum.
Surprisingly, he also died due to an infection in one of his hands.
